My sister-in-law was married to someone for 13 years & NEVER got pregnant, she hasnt been with him for 2 yrs now, shes been with another guy for I don't know how long, anyways she said they went to vegas for a week & had so much to do they didnt have time for sex, & when they got back she immediately got pregnant. So my advice from her was to wait a week, not to do anything, & then try. Has anyone ever tried this b4?

if you are wanting to get pregnant and are not having regular period you are more than likely not ovulating. You can buy over the counter ovulation kits. Once you are sure you are ovulating your OB can order a dye test that opens your tubes. I did this and got pregnant 1 1/2 weeks later. good luck

I read once that if you have sex a lot in a row, then the male sperm count can be depleted after repeated sex. But, most doctors say that even though it is somewhat depleted, the male still releases millions of sperm, and it only takes one to get pregnant. So perhaps after waiting a while the male would be slightly more fertile, but it should not make a difference. It could just be that her most fertile time happened to fall after Vegas, because there are really only 4 or so days out of the month that you can get pregnant.

Also, irregular periods could mean that you are not ovulating, so you should check with a doctor if you are trying to get pregnant, he/she could help you know how to up your chances.

That is only helpful if your partner has low sperm count. It is often suggested to men with low sperm count to wait 3-5 days before trying to conceive so they build up sperm. However, this may not make a difference if you're not ovulating. My suggestion is to use ovulation predictor kits so you can pinpoint the exact day your ovulating and have sex on that day and the day after. You should also see a doctor so they can test if you are even ovulating at all. Good luck!

Best chances of conceiving depend on your menstrual cycle...and nothing else. Ok... menstruation 101...10 to 14 days after the first day of your last period is the time when you are most likely to conceive. It is also generally the time when you want to have intercourse the most. This period is also known as ovulation.

Not having sex...makes no difference... unless you don't want to get pregnant.

Absitenence from sex and masturbation in the days leading up to ovulation will increase sperm count and therefore increase chances of a pregnancy, but it is definitely not sure fire.

it sounds like you need some more knowledge in the conceivng department, and i would suggest some books to get you started.
