Well I am from the Burgh..and its been all over the news and this morning they had the 5 surgeons that performed on Ben talk, He was in surgery for over 7 hours. He is critical but stable condition and is in the recovery room now. His most damage is done to his head and face. He has alot of missing teeth, broken jaw that is now wired shut, left sinus cavity is broken, and a 9in gash to the back of his head! Most of this wouldn't be this bad if he had his helmet on! They said before that his knees were really bad but they released they are just5 badly bruised and cut up from the accident!

My buddy works there and said that he scraped off the skin from this temporal region to just below his jaw on the left side. Also took off part of the nose and his ear. He is awake though.

Steelers won't hold a press conference and the family has decided to wait until Ben himself can tell them what he wants them to do.
Just heard this on sports radio when a sportswriter (not sure who) was on.
Such a shame...

On steelers.com it said that they will not be releasing anymore info until Tuesday afternoon. He is currently listed as 'serious, but stable'.
