You are experiencing our "natural air conditioning"... the fog! San Francisco is surrounded by water from the ocean and the bay on three sides of the city, so that keeps our weather moderate all year round. In spring and summer as we start to warm up, the fog rolls in and keeps us from overheating. Then in the fall, like around September, when the water starts cooling down again, we get the most spectacular weather you can imagine. Hang in there, the best is yes to come!

Because the city is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the water is colder over here.

Cause were so close to the water. :-/ Its probably the coldest part of the bay at all times. But hey, I think I prefer it cold over Modesto weather.

fogjazz nailed it. I'll just add that if you go east of the caldecott tunnel the weather's very different, it's normally in the 90s for much of the summer.
