My children were 17, 15, and 12, I was 38 and had been on The Pill for 11 years when I began experiencing unusual stomach pains whenever I ate. I soon added heartburn and bowel problems to the mix. Since we have colon cancer in our family, I went to my doctor for a physical. After several tests, we were all shocked (including my doctor) to find I was 17 weeks pregnant!! I had been pregnant 3 times before and I had no idea I was pregnant, not one symptom, no morning sickness, I was loosing weight, and I still had my period because I was taking The Pill. Now, my kids are 27, 24, 21, and 8. After this personal experience I can tell you that anything is possible. I never had one ultrasound with my 3 older kids, but discovered it was quite common for all moms to get an ultrasound with my last one. I am sure your doctor will order an ultrasound, be sure to tell him/her that you feel you may be further along so they can double check that.

I had a friend in high school who got pregnant on the pill. Were you taking antibiotics leading up to your starting month? If they were still in your system, they can drastically negate the effects of the pill. Another thing is that you're not really protected until your second and third months on the pill. My gynocologist told me not to have unprotected sex until month three. I guess your's didn't. But I had the same weird period when I took Trinessa. (Although, I was not pregnant.) You most likely got pregnant in the first month. But congratulations even so. It may be unexpected, but at least it will be beautiful. :)

You can get pregnant while taking birth control pills, there are certain antibiotics that will weaken the strength of the pill therefor increasing the chances of getting pregnant. If you didn't already know that not you do, cause when doctors prescribe an antibiotic they don't usually tell you this. I found out when I filled a prescription and the pharmacist asked me if I taking birth control and I told him yes, he told me to use a back up method of birth control while I was taking the antibiotic.

Well birth control pills aren't 100% effective, and they are least effective if you don't take them at the same time everyday. I got pregnant while still on the pill but because of all the extra hormones and other problems, the baby didn't last. My advice to you is to visit your OB/GYN asap to make sure there isn't any difficulties. After this child maybe you should look into getting your tubes tied.

I have not had this happen, but I do know that you can have what seems like a period during early pregnancy. You should take a test to be sure. Everything I have read says that birth control will not harm the baby, but you should still test to be sure then stop if you are. I do know of someone who got pregnant while taking birth control pills, I do not know what kind.

You have to take the pill for two months before it has any real effect on your body. your doctor should have told you this.
Yes, I got pregnant on the pill. I got pregnant using a condom and foam. I got pregnant using a diaphragm with spermicidal jelly. And I got pregnant on Valentine's Day after a bottle of tequila.
My youngest still runs around telling people he's a tequila baby.

There is your problem-using generic stuff. No seriously, any normal pill has this on its warning-you should not have unprotected sex during the first month on the pill because it hasn't taken full effect yet. So it is quite possible that you got pregnant during the first month. But that will teach you to actually read the instructions in the future.

I got pregnant on the pill also. I found out years later that if you are on antibiotics, it cancels out the effect of the pill. So therefore I had two children. But I love them both. Also if your pill is too weak it could be that it didn't take effect. I would suggest you talk to your dr.

I got pregnant while on Ortho Tri Cyclen. My husband had just gotten home from overseas and had just restarted taking the pill and was on week 5 when I got pregnant. We used back up the first month but after that, quit. Congrats and good luck.
