Actually it's a legal way of saying that if something happens to you or her the spouse can make decisions in the other absence. Marriage is total commitment to the other. Marriage is wanting to spend the rest of your life with that one person and when the kids are born you don't have the confusion of them having a different last name ther are the growing old together benifits there is a lot of things that's good about it but maybe youfeel you are ok the way it is b/c you are afraid of commitment.

Aside from the happiness and security, there are quite a few legal issues at play. If you don't get married, and one works while the other doesn't, and then you break up, you cannot recover alimony for any amount of time. If something happens to your significant other and they become paralyzed, you cannot recover for loss of consortium. If you have kids, you will have to choose a name for their last name (not that deep, but whatever). Also, married filing jointly gets you a huge *** tax break. It is easier to divorce if you get married due to equitable distrbution.

1.Two are better than one.
2. You get respected for being Mr. or Mrs.
I think this are the major but then the problems for getting married are more.

selfrespect... no little bastards (all loved and appreciated.. but diffrent last names?) Holding onto the thought of a strong community, country, based on commitment, trust, forgoing temptation. Marriage, is not just two people promising to work towards a hopeful future , but a society, standing up for the american Dream.

None really!! Its easier to say 'wife' than 'partner'!!! Its only a bit of paper but if it makes the woman you love happier then why not let her have her fairy-tale wedding day?! I did.
