“Civil liberties, like democracy, are useful only as tools for social change. I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal."
Founder of the ACLU
Roger Baldwin
On January 16, 1981, President Jimmy Carter awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to ACLU founder Roger Baldwin, calling him 'a champion of human and civil rights.'

I'm not talking about just politicians. Roger Baldwin was not a politician. I am talking about the liberal social and economic agendas as well.

Well, I couldn't have summed up the ACLU better. Not without using the word Extortionists, that is.

It's that cretinous child again spewing baby food. If one statement made a man, then the current President would be know as the king of the morons.
Would you like some examples? Some doozies by someone you idolize, I'm sure.

As far as the ACLU goes, you should be thankful it exists, because without it, chances are we could not be posting this stuff. An organization solely in existence to defend the Constitution, and you find something wrong with that? Sad.

With an attitude like that, you're obviously NOT a minority. Just another white conservative who has never needed the ACLU to stand up for your basic rights. Count your blessings, whitey.

Liberals certainly do a better job of looking out for the average American than the conservatives do! After all, liberals are the ones who support legislation against discrimination on the basis of race, sex, marital status, religion, national origin, and sexual preference. Liberals are the ones who support legislation to protect the environment and the health and safety of workers and consumers. Liberals are the ones who support expanding opportunities for self-improvement to all, instead of reserving them for a select few. Liberals are the ones who support providing good medical care to all, rather than reserving it for a select few. Liberals are the ones who support improving public education, rather than breaking down the separation of church and state that is clearly stated in the Constitution by giving vouchers to parents to send their kids to parochial schools.
The conservatives support doling out billions in welfare dollars to corporations while millions go hungry. The conservatives support the provision of adequate medical care and education to a select few. The conservatives support the relaxation of environmental and health and safety laws so that they can screw up the planet and screw over workers and consumers. The conservatives support the breakdown of the separation of church and state that is laid out in the Constitution so that the Christian fundamentalists can control everything and screw over those who don't believe the same things as they do. The conservatives don't support anti-discrimination laws, because they believe that people should be allowed to discriminate on the basis of sex, race, national origin, religion, and sexual preference.
As the conservanazi Bill O'Reilly is fond of saying, "Who's looking out for you?"

I don't think any politician is looking out for the average American. They are looking out for the growth of their wealth.
