You have to use your imagination...the cover is pretty scary...maybe you look up every once in a while...read it by your self in the dark...go to a cemetary and prop yourself up on a stone and start reading...bet you scared then.

No I haven't had the opportunity to read it yet.
Oh well even Stephen (king of gore) King has a flop every once in a while. Happens to everybody sometime or another.
He will be back soon, sicker and more long winded and rambling dialogued that ever. That guy can write so much to read and never say anything useful with it. Total and complete emersion into the world of Xanex I guess.

It is a really good book - and not all Stephen King books are supposed to be scary - it's just what he's known for the most. But I enjoyed this book very much.

Which version of Thinner are you reading, Stephen King version or his pen name, Richard Bachman? Either way it isn't suppossed to be scary like a Friday the 13th scary, more so that the guy knows he is going to die, knows how he is going to die, and there really wasn't anythinghe coudl do about it.

I think it's more about Halleck thinking he is untouchable, because he basically escapes a murder charge.
Then revenge comes into play. The gypsy takes revenge on Halleck who in turn tries to take revenge on a spiteful wife.
Since you haven't finished it, I won't spoil the ending.
