I bought a leather jacket that I really like- but I don´t use it very often because of its really strong leather smell.... I know every leather garment has a smell, but this one is over the top- it smells like a live cow and not even tons of perfume help to disguise the odor.

tinkerbell_vp: what was left was meat. Add some salt, some pepper, oil and garlic, some barbeque sauce, and you get a delicious meal!

Wow, most people really like that smell. Maybe you should take it to the Dry Cleaners, and have them clean it for you, that might help reduce it some. But I cant imagine actually wanting to reduce the nice smell :)

you ought to purchase an smell neutralizer (those are your key phrases. I even offered some at a dollar shop.) at puppy shops and now purely approximately everywhere. purely positioned some on a fabric and wipe it heavily. (interior additionally) you're able to might desire to repeat. it is going to artwork. it is not suitable therapy for leather-based, yet your jacket is ineffective now. end with leather-based purifier or any form of lotion at the same time with toddler oil. solid success.

Usually leather does smell good...unless it is Morroccan leather. In Morrocco, they use camel urine to cure the leather and that smell can never be removed.
Perhaps this jacket came from one of those countries in which case you are probably out of luck trying to remove it.

THAT'S THE REASON TO GET A LEATHER COAT. THE REAL LEATHER SMELL. DONT PUT PERFUME ON IT. YOU MIGHT RUIN THE LEATHER. NOW I BET YOU SMELL LIKE A COW WITH PERFUME. GO TO THE CLEANERS. BUT I WOULD LET THE SMELL FADE AWAY ALL BY ITSELF.

Ask dry cleaners guys. Other than hang it outside in a fresh air for few days, I can't think of anything else that would help.
Or use www.ask.com. It's very good website.
