Sorry.....but I gotta do this.......
First, you must find the Pergoian Forest. The only one left in the world that hasn't been destroyed by Sanderizers ( a viscous tribe of floor-hating natives who wreak havoc on the surrounding villages by tearing up their lovely floors with Giant Sanderz) is on the Island of WahttheSamhill, located in the southern part of the Idiot Ocean.....................
Oh, come on!! Like you people aren't laughing your A**** off on this one!!

There is no fix for sanded Pergo. Pergo has a top layer that is veneer. The veneer is 1/16 of an inch or less thick. So you have sanded through the veneer to the particle board and foam which provide strength and a slight cushion to the floor. The floor is going to have to be replaced. When you do replace be sure to take several samples home and try them all in every room that you will have flooring installed. Be sure about the color and wood grain that you want.
Sorry, sounds like an expensive lesson to learn.

You are not suppose to sand Pergo. It is compressed wood pretty much. The pink stuff is the paper backing. There is no way to fix that back to a smooth finish. It is going to flake and just wear down from walking on it over time. You cannot add water on it to clean it. You should have called the folks that installed it so they could give you some insight before you tackled this project. Good Luck.

I have sanded and finished floors and I have installed Pergo type flooring. Installing Pergo is a lot easier than trying to refinish a floor. If you want the existing floor refinished I would suggest you have a professional do it.

Yeah, the consensus is you just blew $6100 and they are right. Plus now you have to replace it, again. I'm very sorry. Pergo is simply a laminate, It would be like sanding a countertop. Once again sorry.
At this point. throw a little money at it. I don't know exactly how bad it is, but you could try and patch it with filler and paint the whole thing like Ron said, what's another couple hundred bucks, but I doubt it. Really doubt it I mean really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really doubt it.
Very funny, I tried to email, but it doesn't go though. check out other questions, jc got us all.

Pergo is just particle board with a laminate on the top for looks. I think its toast at this point. You could go get some more tiles from your local hardware store and redo it yourself. The padding underneath should be fine, but please remember never to sand Pergo floors

You screwed it up. Pergo is a laminate flooring product! Read... Not real wood!!! You have made a $6100 mistake. You must be rich to be able to afford to waste money without reading the information package that came with the product. If you want to fix it, replace it!

Why would you sand Pergo??? That makes NO SENSE. Sorry, don't mean to make you feel stupid, but that is a pretty stupid thing to do. Really, at this point there's no fixing it.
