the best way is by LOVING the child. As a parent know when to rebuke, how to listen, give considerations above all do all these in LOVE. If u scold or u are forgiving please emphasize u are doing so out of ur love and anxiety that they succeed in life.Teach them the way of the Lord and be a good example 2 them

Positive reinforcement. In other words, play up the good things and correct the bad things. (Time-outs for misbehavior, that sort of thing.)

negative reinforcement...Do punish a child by bringing physical pain to their bodies...That's just not right...If the child is at least 6 or below time out is effective...If they're older, try time out AND taking away something they like...Like a game, television, playtime with friends...ect...

Spank them , Dont beat them to death but simply spank them.
otherwise they mostlikely will not respect you and be spoiled rotten.
