at what part of pregnancy do women usually drop and what does it mean? im 7.5 months pregnant and my belly seems lower today. i dont remember what it was like being preggers 8 years ago. does this mean that im getting ready for the baby to be born or what? i never had labor with my first. i had an emergency c-section with him. so i am not aware of any of this stuff

The belly gets a little lower closer to the end of pregnancy. It can take weeks and is just your body getting ready.

This is a normal part of late pegnancy called lightening. As the baby becomes engaged in the pelvis you will probably feel it is easier to breathe as the pressure on you diaphragm is relieved. Unfortunately this also means there is MORE pressure on your bladder!
Lightening by itself it is nothing for you to worry about at 7.5 months but if you are having other signs of preterm labor you should let your care provider know.

you usually have about two weeks after the baby drops before labor begins. if s/he really dropped you would look an extra month or two pregnant. that's just the baby's bottom falling forward from no support but s/he's fine. good luck.

yes it means the baby get getting ready to come out.. but sometimes the baby drops a month before it comes out, at your next appointment just asked the Doctor if your baby has dropped they will be able to tell you for sure.

the belly starts to drop somewhere after the 8th month.it just means the baby is getting in to position to be born.

my belly dropped with all five of mine at about 8 months but as far as having them it didn't have anything to do with them coming soon after

Your baby wiill gradually drop until about 2 weeks before you are ready to deliver.
Then. it wiill literally be laying right on your bladder :-)

read a book or ask your freakin' doctor. pregnancy is serious biz. you better hope it turns but that is later than 7.5 mos.
