I don't know about you, but I have never heard anyone say, "I really shouldn't have trusted my gut instincts." That's basically what it's about, being in tune to your intuition.
I do spiritual healing with singing bowls. I play the bowl in someone's hand, and feel the vibrations as they extend through the person, and can tell them where the vibrations are and what they're doing. I can do this with person after person, and it always goes through at a different rate. I'm always careful to not call out too often where the energy is, so that I don't lead the experience. I think that it's important to verify the phenomena.
I used to work with a Reiki master who could tell people many details about their lives while we were doing our energy work. Very specific things which could not have been randomly guessed.
One time on a camping trip, we created a psychic link which allowed us to keep tabs on each other without needing those family band radios.
One time, while engaging in on-line activities, a witch and I played a game of "where am I touching you" and we were able to correctly identify where and how the other person was touching from thousands of miles apart over IM
For a while, a friend and I maintained a karmic connection, and sometimes I would smell something, and call her up, and it was exactly what she was smelling.
"Did you just make cookies?"
"Was the dog just breathing in your face?"
"Did you just disinfect something?"
Often times when I'm driving, I'll see someone walking who doesn't look as several cars go past, and I'll look at the person, and they'll turn to look as I approach. Whereas people with the person (the ones I wasn't looking at) don't turn.

I believe, but there are a lot of fakes and frauds out there just to make a buck that give the true psychics a bad name.

I beleive everybody can have 'psychic' experiences, but I dont call them psychic ability, more like gifts from God.
Like when a mother knows her child is in danger without knowing. Or when you know something bad is going to happen before it does, so you get out of the situation in time.
These moments are God's voice or his angel's protecting us from danger.

there are more people who have a genuine gift than you might believe.
however, almost universally, the one's who "profess" to be psychics are not. every psychic that i've met who commands a fee to "read" you is a quack, just another con-artist trying to scam you out of money.
instead of looking for a psychic, go to something like a paranormal discussion group - there you're more likely to find individuals with genuine talent, who are happy to do a reading for you at no cost, just to hone their talent.
you should also be wary of people who use generic terms to describe you in their "reading". ie "you are a friendly, outgoing individual who feels unappreciated in her workplace" describes what most every person thinks of themself.
good luck finding one of the Gifted !!

I think that the paranormal is nothing like the movies and that there are people who experience things they have no explanation for, or no stomach for that have no where to go and no one to talk to because they are afraid of being used by some lunatic, or scam artist who will take advantage of them or worse.
The movies decide too much of what people think is real, or is not real and some idoit in Hollywood, who thinks they know what people really think can have too much influence in what people actually think as to what a person with paranormal ability can or can not do.

Do not believe. If they were any good then they would have predicted lottery results or,for those of you that believe that their gifts can only be used to help others, predicted 9/11 or the devastation of Katrina and Rita.

Don't believe. Psychics just tell people what they think they want to hear, or complete hogwash.
