MMMMM, I really like the Yorkshire pudding. I have done a few variations on it that I like. I have sprinkled aged cheddar on it while it was baking. When they were cooled, I have put Jam on them. As to the spotted dick, I alwasy wondered what it was. I knew that it had raisins in, but thanks for answering my question. And Toad in the hole sounds like an idea worth trying, as well. However, I will decline the black pudding. Here they call it Blood pudding.

You guys eat sea sponge?! I'm not sure I could eat that. Yorkshire pudding and toad in the hole sound good. The toad in the hole is kind of similar to our Pigs in a Blanket (hot dog wrapped in a croissant or bisquit). I have also hear of kidney pie. I am sometimes curious when I hear of a food on TV, but they don't explain what it is.

You can keep your black pudding, by the way.

It's funny these American's (I'm not talking about the pleasant open minded people who have posted) getting on their high horse about English food, after all, what is America's contribution to world food? Oh yeah, McDonalds!! Classy.

Most American food that actually tastes good comes from somewhere else (Italy, Spain, Mexico the Carribean or wherever) so get off the high horse - this is why people find American's bloody annoying!!

Although, black pudding is pretty disgusting. It's actually cooked (rather than dried) pigs blood mixed with oats and spices. Doesn't make it any nicer though.

You have to laugh at Yanks slagging off what we eat when all they seem to stuff down their morbidly obese necks is a combination of McD's, Taco Bell and pizza's the size of Belgium. Black pudding is nice btw way but it has to be the good stuff from Stornoway. I don't know anybody that eats stuff like toad in the hole or spotted dick (but i know a few spotty dicks..)..

Only 5% of Americans have a passsport and ever leave the country.

Which explains some of the ignorance, when Canadians and Europeans have passports 60 to 70% and travel often

I have been to York and had all of those at a pub.. they are OK

As a tourist I'm always try to find out if British have some national food (taking out the healthy British Breakfeast and Fish and chips) instead of the omnipresent Kebab.

Strange but I cannot dey my malicious mind when I've read all those names. perhaps it gives another answer related to british behavior/comportament. (hehehe)

Thanks by the information but I did not undertand what exaclty is the question and what suppose to be the answer.

(by the way, I'm from America, south america. I'm not from United States...

specific, it is maximum probable delicious with roast beef and lashings of gravy. it is made right into a batter first with flour, salt, water/milk an egg, all overwhelmed at the same time, then rested in the refrigerator for some hours and given a final stir previously than it would desire to be poured into the tin (or tins for guy or woman ones) and poured into VERY sizzling melted (effervescent) LARD or vegetable fat (with a blue haze coming off it) and cooked in the oven. it particularly is particularly tasty and is going completely with roast beef dinner with horseradish sauce, in spite of the indisputable fact that cooking it makes a super sort of the oven and the air in the kitchen!!!! LOL
