My mollies have over populated in the aquarium. My friends won't take any more. What do I do with them?

Do NOT dump them in local waters. Many pet stores will accept healthy fish for store credit or possibly pay you a small amount of money (don't expect much, like less than a single dollar for a couple). Or you could use a message board (online or at a store) to announce that you have them.

I have platies that have done the same thing. I took them to my petstore with a water sample and they gave me store credit. They don't give much, but they have to profit, and anything is better than nothing. Don't flush them. Put out an ad or something because some people are always looking for more fish and they don't trust pet stores.

Try taking them to a local pet store. And if you don't like that then let them go. But remember you want the best for them.

See if you have a local freecycle group on yahoo and you can post a message to give them away.

If that doesn't work, you could always throw them in a lake or flush them down the pottie.

Or you can sell them to people, from your house, sort of like what a breeder does, or just give them away to people.
