Use cold water with your dark items, like black t-shirts. Also, I think Tide makes a special detergent that helps keep your darks nice & dark - doesn't make them faded or washed out looking.

The first time you wash it DO NOT put it in with other clothes that are lighter in color. You'll end up with a bunch of gray clothing. Also, try to wash all your dark colors together and use something like Woolite Dark that is milder and won't remove as much of the color. Don't use hot water (that will fade them BIG time!), ditto on drying on high heat.

Wash all dark colors together, inside out, in cold water with a mild detergent or one made for darks. One thing you can do to keep them from fading is soak the shirt in vinegar before you wear it. It locks in the color.

Yes the black t-shirts are washed with other black t-shirts. Never wash them with whites it will turn them black.

I recommend washing only dark colors together in cold water, on gentle cycle, and as infrequently as possible. That will help protect the fabric (especially cotton which wears out). Then, line dry until completely dry and fluff in dryer.

Wash them inside out with mild soap, preferably one made for dark colours and wash in cold water only.

Use All detergent for black clothes so they won't fade. And wash all darks together to try to cut down on lint from lighter clothes. And to prevent the darks from bleeding on the lighter clothes.
