Like security at the airports...the new "crack downs" amount to nothing more than window dressing to make the passengers feel like they are much safer now. Or when the homeland security head said to make sure you have duct tape on hand to seal your windows in an atomic blast from the fall out. And we wait till a major disaster happens before we take action..then we are more alert for awhile,,but then allow the tougher restrictions to lag? Well if we let them lag arent we where we were be4 the disaster?? And now at airports they are going to start letting knives and scissors go on planes again...ok,,well why did we not allow them the last 5 years then...all of a sudden are they any less dangerous????

You ask some very good questions, which the answer may vary from one opinion to the next. We live in a "band-aid" society, where rather than find the solution, we just throw money at it. By "band-aid" I mean we simply find the nearest idea or recommendation, and apply it. We do this without finding the best possible answer first, leaving a large gap for something else to occur later on down the line. I suppose in a perfect society this would not be the case, but not one person has ever accused us of being a perfect society either... Hope this helps some.

Maybe lazy, maybe money issues and maybe not wanting to offend anyone. Ever since the political correctness movement initiated by the liberals we suffer with ignorance and stupidity.

Leaders are not concerned with solving problems, they are concerned with directing the blame. If a problem is solved, the power base dissolves and attention moves on. The power and money is in "fighting" problems, not solving problems.
