He's suspended, so that gets them off the hook for 50 days worth of his salary. Beyond that, it will come down to whether they have an anti-illegal drug clause in his contract.

I don't think they should be obligated to do that because Grimsley asked for a release from the team and he obviously broke the rules.Grimsley spent time with the Royals and I'm a big fan of his so I am very disappointed in how his career ended but I wish him the best.

It doesn't matter whether he used HGH or steroids, he should get paid if he was WITH the team. Instead, he asks to be cut and then wants the remainder of his salary? No way, BS. He better not get anything past what he "earned", even though he's terrible.

actually they released him and all released players receive the remainder of their salary. but that being said since he didn't fail a drug test and is being suspended by baseball I think that is wrong. if you suspend Grimsley why not Bond or the other

I say yes. They should pay him in siringes and rubbing creams so he can keep his girlish figure up.Maybe give him some plaine tickets to SanFran so he and Super Cheater can rub one another with there special muscle creams!!Also give him tickets to Fenway so he can come see how an all natural team plays without being all roided up!These guys should be terminated contract n all, real nice world we live in where your kids idols are promoting this crap!

I feel sorry for anyone naive enough to think that no one on their favorite team (talking to you Red Sox fan) is or has never used any sort of illegal substance for enhancement of their body.
What I dont understand is why has it taken so long for Johnny Law to crack down on steroids in baseball? Steroids are illegal, not just against the rules.

I think the release supercedes the suspension, so technically (and perhaps legally) he is owed the money. I don't think he deserves the money, but that's another deal. I think the bigger question is whether he gets paid from CrimeStoppers for dishing out names. Maybe he can live off of that.

No. He asked the team to release him, and they did so. I wish I could quit my job, but still get paid!!! :)
I do applaud his honesty on the steroid/HGH scandal. Some call it "snitching", but without such "snitching" the game would go on as is and eventually destroy itself.

No he did something that baseball does not allow and he got caught. He was released from the team, it like you getting fired from your job.
