It is all throughout space if it exists. You can't see it because...well...it is dark ;0)

Dark matter is like the matter between the sun and the galactic centre.
It's like a bridge for magnetism to go through, ie, a magnet with several metal sticks for the magnetism to bridge further to the object it needs to get.
In this term the metal sticks are dark matter/energy and it is gravity not magnetism.
The substance is invisible, but is the invisible matter that holds galaxies together. This matter/energy is invisible and blends with the darkness of space.
If there was no dark matter then light would go quicker through space, like water it slows gravity down.
The term dark is human ignorance but dark matter/energy should be called invisible matter/energy.
It's between planets, moons, satellites and pretty much everything where not much matter exists.
It's not between everyone as matter already exists in the atmosphere.
Scientists think it's invisible to any visible light.

Dark Matter of the Brain ?

in between the stars, all celestial bodies, moons, planets, and the rest of rocks and star formations and gases, it is the stuff that is contained in the universe but it is the greatest mystery still to many astronomers. I believe that the key to unlocking the mysteries of the universe is finding out exactly what dark matter is.

If you're talking about the stuff in the universe, I think all the physicists and astrophysicists are still trying to figure that one out. I don't think they are 100% sure it even exists, but they think its a pretty good theory that explains alot about the universe. But then I could be wrong, who knows.

It is spread through the universe and is theorized to be a major component to galaxies mass.
