I didn't like it originally but a few years ago I was working from home and it was on tele every day. I got hooked.
Although I still can't believe they changed john boy.
Oh yeah, and I had a thing for Mary Ellen.

I have seen the Waltons. I am very fond of Grandpa and Grandma. Growing up I never had a grandfather and somehow, I think that is what he would have been like. He was caring, loving and funny. I cried when Will Geer pased away. It was Like I lost my own Grandpa.

When I worked on a building site back in the 70's, John-Boy was our hero.
Big tough builders sitting around talking about the Waltons.
One scene made us chuckle...
Grandma & Grandpa Walton alone in the kitchen. Grandma (in her apron as usual) complaining of her age, says, 'She feels like an old turkey'.
Grandpa dances up to Grandma and says,
'Come you old Turkey, give me a gobble'.
Such innocents...

Yeah .. typical program with a happy start, a problem in the middle, and yet within 30 minutes everyones happy again until the following week. They must hate Sundays.

Used to watch it on a sunday morning i liked it then but only when john boy was young i didn't like it when he grew up and got a proper job. (sad i know but i was young!!)
