Absolutely.
Imagine having to lie all the time. You will ALWAYS have to remember that lie and sometime down the road you will get caught up in telling that lie.
Tell the truth and you will always have a clear mind and conscience to focus on other things.
People will respect you for it and will always turn to you for advice as they know they will get a correct and honest answer.

Yes, I believe that honesty is the best policy. You don't do yourself or anyone else any favors by lying.

However, sometimes it's a really good idea to practice tact and diplomacy. Of course, other times unvarnished honesty is the way to go.

But rarely should you be rude about it.

As long as you don't have to lie or hurt someone is always the best policy. Honesty is included but not all the time.

Sometimes it is not a matter if YOU believe it so much as if the person involved does. In example, I did not tell my friend that her ex was seeing another woman 6 months after they broke up. She got all twisted and terminated our friendship.

My thinking was that they were well over with and telling her would do nothing more than hurt her and stir crap. Besides, it never came up... had she asked me I certainly would have told her. Her thinking was that I betrayed her and was not honest with her.

By the way... she had been seeing her other ex for about 5 months prior to this happening LOL

not all the time because sometimes being dishonest is to try and mind peoples feelings. being honest all the time is not always possible. if my baby comes in the room with a picture they made or painted am i suppose to say oh u went outside all the lines and u colored on top of everything and just scribble scrabbled, no i tell them it's the most beautiful picture in the world.

YEs. somehow the truth will come out in the end. So just be honest - when you lie you end up lying more to cover the original lie. Remembering the truth is so much easier.
