there is clearly a problem with your hard drive - if you have a boot disk, you should try using it, and then checking if any of the C: drive is readable.

My bet is, one of two things. If it says it can't read the disk then it probably sees it but the data somehow became corrupted. Contuining along these lines if your boot drive was not C: and was some other letter, Windows has a knack for changing it to C: on a whim and that misplaces all your boot files. Or, it's as simple as a loose cable. Check both the power and IDE cables. If none of that works then it's the drive, you may have to consider purchasing a new one and reinstalling.

Try to do the following:
1.check jumpers see if there on master.
2.check the BIOS boot sequence
3.Change the IDE cable
4.Check that IDE1 or IDE Controller is working
5.Try to Auto detect the Hard disk drive in the BIOS
6.If the problem persist try to Format and Install the Operating
system. But first Backup your hard disk drive by slaving your HDD
copy data to another drive.

Check the IDE cable and power connection to the hard drive...if you have this message it sees the drive but cannot read into it..not a good thing. Try restarting into safemode (F8 while booting up).

Good Luck!
