America has always been ready if it's the right woman for the job. Hillary and Condi don't fit the bill though. Too bad Madeline Albright is getting up there in years, Sandra Day O'Conner (sp?) might be another good choice.

I think America is ready. But the question is really if the two (yes, only two) major political parties are willing to offer up a female candidate. Politics in America is run by the two big machines and their corporate agendas, not independent thinking or quality decision-making at the individual and constituent level.

Yes, I think America is ready for a woman to run for President, but I think it's very unlikely that she will win. I am a female.

As a female I'd say I'm ready but unfortunately the country as a whole is not. We are not going to see anyone but a white (christian) male as president for a long time yet.

I do not believe America is ready for a female to be President. To many biased males in this world would never vote for it.

No. I really don't care as long as the person is non biased. But the world is in no way shape or form ready to vote in a woman. Maybe in a few more generations. Maybe like 40 years or so. Also there aren't any contenders right now.

i really don't think America is ready right now. as long as it is not Hilary Clinton, I would also like to see another race run for president. I just don't think the American people would buy it right now

No we are not..
With half the voting population male..and a portion of the female voting population controlled by what the husband thinks...getting a majority vote for a female candidate seems like an impossible feat...

There's nothing wrong with having a female candidate for president. What is wrong, is the preoccupation of women to have a candidate. Nobody really gives much credence to qualification, only genitalia and that is wrong.
Come up with a truly qualified, honest candidate and it's possibly that even I, would consider giving her my vote, but not if she is a liberal.

It depends on who the female is, and how much respect she gets from her fellow politicians.
I'm ready for a female president, anyone is better than BUSH!
