Is Hofstra University located in Long Island, New York a really good college?

US News & World Reports ranks it in with National Universities. They have them in their third tier. There are only four tiers. This means that it is a decent school and selective, but not one of the great universities. It would be comparable to a state school that is not the best state school. In other words, it is not as good as UNC-Chapel Hill, but is as good as UNC-Greensboro. It isn't as good as the University of Illinois, but is as good asw Illinois State, etc.

Good college -- yes. Really good college -- No.
