yes. To manage your emotions means that we should control our mind. To control our mind we should do 3 things.
1. Alms Giving or giving without expecting anything (Daana)

2. We should protect our minds and bodies from 5 misconducts( which are 1.I will not to harm any living being,2.I will not take intoxicants ,3. I will not miscondut my self regarding sex,4.I will not lie whether its a white lie or black lie, 5. I will not steal from any one or any thing...... (we call these 5 precepts)

3. Meditation (Calm and insight meditation.

i think that you shouldnt have to control your emotions if we cant show emotions then why have them.they are part of being honest if your mad at something show it samething for if your sad,happy ,nervous,etc i show my emotions all the time and if they dont like then dont talk to me

Yes. I was taught to turn anger in to laughter. I don't like doing it, but it keeps me from punching someone's lights out.
