Two reasons: laws and society. Our laws make it easier to divorce, depending on which state you live in. Our society has gotten to the point where they see divorce as a new beginning and an easier alternative to working it out. Plus our culture is less family and religiously oriented. These two items go hand in hand. A family needs god in it in order to survive.

It is too easy to get a divorce in the West. It only takes one spouse to be in disagreement and the other can not do a thing. I do know there are some countries that all you have to do is proclaim a divorce and you are divorced. But, respect for one another has been put on the back burner and the divorce rate keeps climbing higher among couples that have been together for 20 years and more. Who has all the answers?

We have little tolerance for unhappiness. Other nationalities have a greater tolerance for it, or an ability to be happier than we. EDIT: I felt these other points about women's rights went without saying, but I'm glad they were brought up. EDIT: The last third of Ricky's post is fabricated. I've been through family court and dropped charges without being charged. I was not given an automatic order of protection. It's ok to have an odd point of view. Just base it on the truth. I don't know why you Men's Rights guys lie all the time. So does "papa bear". Isn't the truth enough to reinforce your position?

People in the west get married for money, fame, or pregnancy. People in the east get married for love, or life long friendships

its a lot to do wid d culture n d upbringing and d society at large!! its something way more deeper!! west basically makes an individual an individualistic...wereas in east it is very important for a person to have family...n so on..!
