As a Canadian, I will burn who's ever flag I want. I have been involved with, and will continue to be involved with, the burning of the American flag, and the flag of any other country who's actions I disagree with, as an act of protest. The burning of the American flag symbolizes the distruction of American freedom, and a proud end to your tradition of being "the home of the free". Oh, and fyi, Americans regularly burn the flags of other countries. Also, I support the burning of the Canadian flag (as a born Canadian, who's parents and grandparents are born Canadians)when this country gets up to things I don't agree with. Flag burning is a sign of *strong* disagreement; it shouldn't be over-used, as that robs the act of all meaning. But the jesture should not, and cannot, be disallowed. I have not yet burned a Canadian flag, but as mr. Harpers government continues down the same path mr. Bush decided to follow, the day when that action will be warrented comes closer and closer.

Personally, I think it's wrong to burn the flag of any country. The only time I know of when burning a flag is a ceremony that you have when the flag is too messed up to be used, but it's done in a particular fashion and with respect. Protest all you want, but burning a symbol of a country that allows you the freedom to protest and of speech doesn't make a lot of sense to me, at least.

Everyone will have different thoughts and opinions about this, and here is mine: If you're burning the flag just to burn it, it is very disrespectful. If a person doesn't like or agree with the president or our elected officials in government, they have the power to vote them out of office. If a person chooses not to vote, then they have no voice and should not complain. Try going to another country and protesting and burning their flag. If you don't like what your country has become, don't just sit there and complain about it. You have the power to change things by using your American born right to vote.

The proper way to dispose of the flag is to give it to the boy scouts and they burn it in a ceremony. Other than that, burning the flag is totally disrespectful. Whether or not your politics leads you down the same road as others, respect for the flag and those who are fighting and died for it should be priority one.

The only time it is ok to burn the American flag is to dispose of it. Never is it ok to burn one as a protest.

I think it should be a punishable crime because it is a form of disrespect to our country. If they are so unhappy they need to be sent back to what ever country they came from or their ancestors came from as everyone came from somewhere else.

No, i don't think it is wrong.

Doing it just to antagonize people though is quite disrespectful, but as my wife says..."I don't like what my country has become".....
