It rained frogs. OK, don't mean to sound stupid but could someone PLEASE tell me what they think this movie meant.

Is it possible that there's nothing to get?
Or, that whatever it is is not worth getting?

Yeah, I didn't get it either when I first watched it many moons ago, so I checked with the trusty IMDB.com. It's kinda hard to notice, but they make many references to the numbers 8 and 2 in the flick, and they refer to the bible verse Exodus 8:2 which reads "If you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs." Apparently, the writer/director P.T. Anderson didn't know about the Bible story before filming, taking the frog reference from some author named Charles Fort, but after learning of the bible relation, he worked in several references to the verse that you can see in the link below (scroll to the bottom, after the Spoiler warning).

I used to LOVE that movie. I saw it twice in the theater when it first came out AND I purchased the video. But, no matter how many times I saw it, I never really understood it. Maybe that's the point??? It's craziness!

Two words - Tom Cruise. You'll never get it, it's like with Vanilla Sky or Eyes Wide Shut; no one got them, either. He's strange.
