say her age is X now then..4 years hence her age= X+4
then the equation which you need to solve going by the problem statement would be :

2(X+4)-3(X-10) = X
or solving this
2X+8-3X+30=X
or
38= 2X
hence X = 19
the choice c is right

She is (c) 19:

Here's the word problem translated into an equation:

let x = the woman's age

"my age four years hence" = x+4

(x+4)*2 - 3*(x-10) = x

multiply it out:

2x + 8 - 3x + 30 = x

now simplify:

38 - x = x

38 = 2x, therefore x = 19.

Definitely 19 years old. "My age four years hence" means four years from now, which means you set up the equations as:

2(x+4) - 3(x-10) = x

Solving for x gives 19. Clever woman. I'd ask her to marry you now! ;0)

(c) 19
4 years hence means 4 years from now

the relevant equation is 2*(x+4) - 3*(x-10)=x where x is the current age.
