The question is worded in a way that makes it confusing. Essentially it just comes down to the fact that you sold 7 more cars from one week to the next. When viewed in reference to the first week (12 cars sold) the increase in cars sold (7) in converted to percentage by (7/12)*100%

That would be.... 19-12 = 7 divided by 12(original value) X 100(for percentage) = 58.333... or round it off to 58.33%

to get a percentage increase, take the new number subtract the old number and then divide the result by the old number and multiple result by 100.
19-12=7
7/12=.58333
.58333*100=58%
