All of mine did that put a few little toys in his bed and let him entertain himself. If he cries let him. it will break your heart but he will be fine. just get up the first time check his bum and his belly if both are fine kiss him and lay him back down. it usually takes a week or two but they realize you aren't going to entertain them and give up. hearing them cry is the worst part but be strong.

This is usual in Infants still u Check closely why he do so?
This could be because of :

Noise around him (Sudden Noise)
Are you on same bed as he is If he is touched?
Or he could have problem in Breathing due to a wrong posture?

Again I will say its Normal u just need to check & eliminate the Problem, If you still feel afraid Consult to a Doctor...

let him cry it out. it's hard but you don't want him to think this kind of behavior is ok for the next 5 years. you'll have to let him cry it out eventually, might as well start now. I did this with my daughter. If he is still crying after 20-30 minutes, go in there. but he will eventually learn how to comfort himself back to sleep.
