They do have children together so can the other get more then just child support?

It's possible that one partner can sue for "palimony", but it's unlikely that it would be awarded. The person suing would have to prove that the other person promised to take care of them for life. That's hard to prove.

If they haven`t been working for the last year or so and a stay at home mom they can. Been there done that!! They have to have some type of career or they can get alimony. Consult a lawyer it is different from state to state. Here in Florida it varies from county to county! Sucks Here!!

You would have to check on "common law" laws as to whether you can get alimony. But as for child support, yes you can.

That depends on which state you live in. Not every state has alimony, not every state recognizes cohabitation as "common law" marriage.

You need to ask an attorney in the state where you live.
