The chances are very very very slim. Unless you are blessed with great skill and speed and you're close to 7 feet tall and go to certain high schools who are known for good basketball players where you will be noticed by the talent scouts, then...you see what I'm getting at?

Out of the thousands and thousands of people dreaming to be in the NBA, only what, 400 to 700 get to actually play on an NBA team at any given time.

I'm not saying give up on your dream. Work hard, learn your skills and be one with the spaulding orange ball -- but keep those grades up too. Some, and they have to be EXTRAORDINARY, get to forgo college by just going straight to apply for the Draft, but how many Kobe's do you know?

Be careful, stay away from the bad elements, keep your grades up, and look for a career you can fall back into whether or not you get to be an NBA player or not.

Good luck.

To get into the NBA is no easy task. In order to get there though you must have an "in". Trying to get into the NBA with no college experience is a long shot and isn't worth attempting. You have to remember that all the pros that tried to get into the NBA (for the most part) have played and dominated at the college level, that is how they got noticed. Hard work and dedication to school as well as basketball will do you good. But you also have to realize where you stand in ability to play the game.

First off, it is a well thought to attention on one recreation so you'll be able to quite upgrade on it. As for which recreation to opt for, I might move with the NBA given that of the sturdiness. In soccer, your frame takes so a lot more abuse that individuals have a tendency to retire of their overdue 20s, early 30s as a substitute than within the NBA in which you'll be able to play for much longer if you'll be able to keep primary. The best well information approximately the NFL is that extra gamers are mainly selected. As to how one can get into it, in view that the NBA or NFL does not permit for top college gamers, you ought to attention on coming into a significant time college in which you'll be able to get spotted. For soccer, appear at colleges like Texas, USC, Florida. For basketball, appear at Duke, UCLA, North Carolina. The higher the college, the higher the degree and consequently a greater risk of having drafted. Practice and play difficult and scouts will begin noticing you. You would desire to even suppose approximately shifting to a higher top college. And do not fear approximately letting time go you via. If you are nonetheless in top college, your frame is not mature sufficient to manage the strain of professional play. Take a while, paintings difficult so you do not grow to be like Shaun Livingston.

First of all, practice day and night, and try to improve your game as much as you can.

Second, play through high school and college, and try to get noticed by NBA scouts.

Last, enter the NBA draft when you're old enough!

If you're in high school you should really try to focus on ur school work but be consistent with your basketball. Practice Practice Practice because I've learned that practice really does make perfect. So keep your head up and dribble dunk and shoot for the stars.

You get good, go to a D1 college, play good there, take your team deep into the March Madness tourney, stay four years (NBA teams like that) go into the NBA and show you can play.

Be lucky enough to have the kind of gifts that Lebron James and Kobe Bryant have. Or be at least 7 ft tall with decent ability. Then work your tail off. Simple isn't it?
