There a lot of words to describe it, but the one you're looking for in this specific instance is - FEAR. Do you know what removes fear? Additional information. People withdraw or pull back when they don't have all the facts. If you would like cooperation, even if you can't do it personally, get word back to "someone's" brain that there is more to the story. You might even provide what the additional information actually is, so your friend can re-evaluate if fairness is coming in your general direction on this. I wish you a peaceful heart while this other person realigns. If this person realigns, that is a good thing. If this person does not, that person will be missing the pleasure of your company. You, however, would then be free to move on with your life and gently place this whole matter behind you.
Best of luck to you with this one. - G., South Portland, Maine, U.S.A.

Anyone who goes out of their way NOT to help anybody has a major problem. In my book the person is just plain lazy, who cares for no one but themselves.
