It amazes me how oblivious some people are to things like this. Carolina "stole" a team? I'm not sure how you deem it such a way, seeing how it was willingly moved. Hartford "steeped in tradition"? Hartford has proved to be such a great major sporting site over the years. I mean, the NFL, NBA and MLB seemed to love having a team based in Hartford.....or wait...they actually never had any. As for anyone who claims being an Oilers fan and saying Carolina is an expansion team? Maybe you should think back to who the Oilers joined the NHL with that year. The other three teams being Quebec(Colorado), Winnipeg(Phoenix) and Hartford(Carolina). So apparently Carolina is as much an expansion team as your beloved Oilers. The Red Wings won the President's Trophy this year. Wow! Maybe they can enjoy polishing up that (regular season only) trophy while they sat and home and watched the conference semi-finals and beyond this year. The Red Wings swept the Hurricanes a few years ago? I seem to recall Carolina winning the first game in the finals that year. They still lost the series, yes, but was not a sweep. Carolina injured Roloson? If you really believe that, then you are an idiot. Any misinformed fool can listen to news and blame someone because of an injury, when a hockey fan can watch a replay and understand how things happen and any sort of blame is therefore unnecessary(or where it really lies). As for the whining? Maybe all the Lindy Ruff fans can explain why Lindy feels everybody was diving in the playoffs except for any Sabres(maybe one of you could get Jason Smith a cape to go along with that ridiculous swan dive through the air in game 4, and give him my thanks too, it looks so good in hockey). Better yet, maybe they could stop saying "Ooh, Carolina would have lost IF....IF....IF..." Good to know all these prophets know what "would have happened IF". So I'll give you one. What would have happened IF Carolina hadn't lost Erik Cole, who, at the time of injury, was playing as one of the best, if not the best, power forward in the game? I don't have to answer that for I don't live in a world of "what ifs", I live in a world of what is. So know what you're talking about before you say anything.

No way! If you like hockey, how can you root for an expansion team, or a city that steals a team steeped in tradition like Hartford? Or how can you chear for a team in the south, where ice doesn't even form? No way! Go Oilers, keep tradition alive. Rednecks and hockey don't mix!
And to the moron calling Pittsburgh an expansion team! Wrong. Expansion teams have popped up all over in the past few years. Pittsburgh didn't steal their team from someone else, did they? The Canes sure did. You don't have to be one of the original six to not be an expansion team. Think about it. And the Wings did whoop that booty, swept em actually, a few years ago. They also won the Presidents trophy this year! The Canes are just lucky they injured Edmonton's goalie! That was their only chance. Say "No" to Redneck hockey! Bad for the health. And what do you mean, coming back home, I may be mistaken, but when did the Stanley Cup EVER call Carolina home?

Canes suck! They're lucky they made it past the Sabres - if the Sabres didn't loose pretty much their entire defense, they'd have crushed the Canes.
I'm cheering for the Oilers, not so much because I like them, but because I don't like Carolina.
The Canes are all just a bunch of whining pansies, who complain about everything. Brind'amour looks like he was dropped on his face as a child, and he has no right to talk about Lindy Ruff the way he did. And Doug Weight is an asshole who needs a hockey stick shoved up his a**.
GO OILERS!

Yes, I am a Canes fan. I feel your frustration for the way the Oilers are playing. Sorry!! Canes take the Cup on Wednesday in Raleigh.
For Michael, in case you didn't know, yes we can form ice down here in the south, we do that every winter. We actually learned out how to make ice inside a building (go figure) so that it can be skated on by a bunch of guys by the names of Brind Amour, Ward, Staal, Hedican, etc. in red/white and black uniforms. They are the same guys that are kicking the s**t out of their opponents. We actually get snow here too!! WOW!! The rednecks like to drive their 4x4 trucks through it!! GO CANES.

Not a 'canes fan but I am cheering them on. Must suck to be a Candian though. Last Stanley Cup they had a chance with Calgary and lost. This time they have a chance with Edmonton and they are likely going to lose.
Ummm if we can't cheer for an expansion team who are we supposed to cheer for this year. Edmonton wasn't one of the orginal 6. If they were why the hell were they in the WHA. Remember this is the first time that 2 former WHA teams have met in the Stanley Cup. Ashame to learn I can't cheer on my Penguins anymore either since they were expansion team.

I'm actually a Flyers fan, but I'm pulling for three ex-Flyers on the Canes. Why does it seem that Philly players can only win titles AFTER they leave Philadelphia?!
