I actually had this surgery performed about two years ago. The left side was larger than the right, and during sex, was extremely painful as I would tear almost every time. I went to my GYN and he diagnosed it as a skin tag. This was performed under general anesthesia and I went home the same day. Insurance did cover the cost of the surgery.

Just make sure you purchase plenty of baggy sweats to wear for about a week after the surgery. It's not so much painful as just general discomfort. Sitting for long periods of time doesn't work very well! The stitches my physician used were not the type that disentegrate on their own, so I had to go in for removal, that's the only thing I would suggest, although, he probably did it so he could make sure that I came back for the postop visit to make sure no infection had set in.

If I were you, I would do it, it makes life a lot nicer!

Good luck!

I've heard about it too and have seriously considered getting it done in the future. Just type labia surgery into any search engine and you'll find all sorts of websites devoted to it. And I'd give my advice on this like any other surgical procedure. Weigh the pros and cons. If you're like me, you'll find the pros outweigh the cons.

Labiaplasty surgery is very safe and very cheap in India.Cosmetic Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your cosmetic surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.If you still havent got your surgery done, you are better off getting it done in India.

my cousin got a couple of plastic surgery including labiaplasty procedure through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is more than very happy with the results.she just paid 30% of the amoun she was quoted in USA.hope this helps.

This type of surgery is termed labiaplasty. The surgery lasts for about one to two hours, and costs about $4000 and up. If you are considering this type of surgery, this is something to talk to your doctor about. You can read more about this procedure here

I've never heard of it but I'm sure it can be done. It would be no different than breast surgery really, just a different area.
