depends on which pill your one, theres one called seasonal and you have ur period every three months i dont think theres a pill out there that completly stops ur period but there is the depo shot, idont recommend it to neone i was on it and my hubby and i have been trying forever to get pregnant. the real point of birth control is to regulate and stop pregnancy so ur supposed to have a regular normal period.

Yes, you still have periods while you're on the pill. There are 28 pills and only 21 of them have the actual hormone in them. The rest are just a placebo so you can keep track of the days. Once you stop with the hormones, your body does what it normally does and sheds the lining of the uterus IE your period.
I have heard that some women who use other types of hormones (Depo-provera shot, norplant) will not have a period for several months at a time. I don't know that I personally agree that it is the healthiest thing for a woman to keep from having periods, but I do know that some women have experienced that with those hormones.

Yes, all the pill does is prevent conception. The female body will still ovulate, that is why the last week of the pills are "sugar pills" with no meds in them. You can just take the white pills for three months, and then take a set of the pink ( or whatever color) and only have a period every three months if you wish. No longer, however, or your body will start doing weird things. check with your doctor to make sure this is an option for you.

Yes. Your period is regulated on the pill. You take one each day for 21 days and none (or a sugar pill for those who need to keep in the habit) the other 7 days. During those 7 you get your period.

yes. It doesn't stop your period. It just regulates it so that you know exactly when you are getting your period.
If you do not want to have a period there is an injection that you can have that stops your period either for 3 months or 6 months. I used it while travelling backpack thru Europe and Africa because it is not convenient to menstruate in the conditions I would be staying in (i.e. tents) nor practical to carry a 6 month supply of Always in my backpack. Speak to your doctor about it as I am not sure that it is available in the US.

I take the pill and with most of then you take it for 3 weeks and then stop for a week and have withdrawal bleed which is basically like a period after that week you go back on the pill for 3 weeks and off for a week so on and so on.....

yes. the pill im on i take for 21 days then stop and dont take it for 7 days then i repeat it again. During my 7 day gap of not taking the pill i have my period

Honey... you need to talk...TALK with your doctor... don't go to the internet for medical advice...But, as a medical professional... yes.. you have a period every 28 days on the pill... there are 7 pills that are placeboes that you take to allow for your period.

Yes. You take the pill for a certain number of days, usually once a day for three weeks. Then the fourth week, you don't take the pill, and that's when you get your period.
So you still get it, but at least you can kinda schedule WHEN you get it.
