My old '89 Audi 80 has gone to the scrap yard and the guy who took it away told me it will be crushed and then sent to China.
I feel sentimental about my old trusty wagon which I had many travelling memories in the 2 and half years I had it. It still looked good going on the back of the trailer - okay the front wheel and joining parts needed some serious work that made it uneconomic. But it was like losing a friend. When it was being towed away I took my last longing sad look as it disappeared away from my life. Is this normal?

It's normal. We become attached to things that we have had for a long time and have good memories about. It is normal human psychology.
