People should be able to wear whatever feels natural to them, unfortunately due to many closed-minded individuals, this isn't possible. Obviously, culture must play a part - it is up for us now, as a society, to determine how large a part it plays in the personal decisions of individuals.

Wear what feels comfortable and healthy for you ! YOU and only you and possibly your partner should decide what to wear. I know MANY, MANY, MANY couples out there who get together with both of them or just the male in a skirt and they have never every had any problems in public with what they are wearing together.
A skirt is just a piece of clothing. Originally skirts were worn by males as were heels, because horse riders needed something cool and comfortable while being able to keep their feet in sterups for long periods of time so heels were originally made for males alone. Do what feels right and ignore the idiots. Enjoy YOUR life not the way others want you to limit your life... ;-)

It's called FASHION! Men used to wear skirts but in the industrial age that faded due to the practicality of pants. (Also for riding horses long before the industrial age). Women have successfully raided all of men's clothes and have gotten away with it yet men can't even reclaim what they once had! Seems a bit crazy and goes to show that men are wimps about standing up for their rights.
Skirts will make a comeback but it might be a few more years. Probably they will be used in sports first due to the freedom of movement (short ones) provide. Most chicks think guys look cool in skirts if you read the polls. (Use your search engine to verify this). Gays are not a part of the issue! They tend not to wear skirts unlike what one might think. It is the heterosexual male that does and those numbers are sure to increase as they become braver.

of course the scottish wear skirts they are known as kilts, why other guys take offense is it is as you said a culture division,Guys here in the U>S> look at that as a blow to their masculinity. There are other cultures that people take offense to for example some folks look at the cultures who wear little to nothing as dirty and savage but are they? No that is their culture that is the way they are brought up that is how it is for them. So being comfortable with you and not worrying about what others think is a far better plan.

If we had true fashion fredom, there would not be a gender stereotype for clothes. Many man would love to wear skirts just as they are happy to wear shorts.
however for a skirt to be shown off well, nice legs and heels makes a difference.
women can wear trousers, but when men wear a skirt it is called crossdressing. The biggoted views held by so many prevent men from true fashion freedom

I see a load of men walking down the street in a kilt (which is basically a kilt), but generally it's scottish men who do because that's what they've always done so i think it's got more to do with their history than what men feel.

If you can carry it off wear it.
Greeks, Scots, Irish wear kilts. Sarongs are comfortable. Short tunics a la the Romans are also comfortable and what guy has not walked around with just a towel round his waist the ultimate in comfort.

I don't see why they shouldn't. Why they'd want to, now there's something I don't know! Women wear trousers and no one minds women wearing "men's" clothes. I don't think there should be a problem the other way around.
