In my novel their are things that I'm sure will make it controversial. To keep this from happening I think I should put somthing explaining why I wrote the story and why it contains what's inside it

An Important word from the author
I'm afraid that despite the fact that my story is entirely fiction, it maybe very controversial. So before you read The Soldiers of Yahweh I would like to make a few things clear. In order to fully understand the message of this story you will need to read the sequels as well. Since this is my novel to control I would like to write it for your entertainment as well as to share my religious views (never to force them on anyone). I would also like to say that despite what I make some of the characters believe in this story I do not view God as a vengeful God. As a fully confirmed member of the Roman Catholic Church I know that God does not hold a grudge, he is kind and merciful, and he is always willing to forgive. Also while writing this book I do not proclaim myself as a righteous one because I would be a hypocrit to do so, I like everyone else have done things I am not proud of, but as a Catholic I can't stand a single abortion or same sex marriage any more then I can put a hamburger on a hot dog bun. Also I am not tearing anyone down because of their life choices, some people have had abortions because they where forced, afraid, influenced by friends, family, etc. And in the end they have a pain deep inside of them that never leaves, because God had a plan for them and they rejected it. Some people are... the way they are because it is easier for them to make bonds with certain people, but it is not what God intended. We are all tempted by the devil at some time in our lives, he works through others to confuse us so we fall deeper into his web of hell, so remember just because it's legal doesn't mean it's right.

Thank you and enjoy the story.

In the story America is obliterated and the views of the Characters are those of a Roman Catholic. (Abortion and Same sex marriage is bad etc) And It contains my contempt toward our government.

Darlin', you WANT controversy. Controversy sells books! Besides, anyone who can't tell the difference between fact and fiction isn't going to pay attention to this anyway.

Don't wimp out! Write the book and believe in what you're writing.

Truthfully, you can't avoid controversy. Too many people out there are ready to scream about any slightest percieved slight - even if they have to distort your words to the point of unrecognizability to create the offense.

Personally, I don't like religious, preachy stories. However, in the USA you have a right to write what you will, and get it published by any editor willing to back it. I know - I'm a veteran who fought to defend that right, and I will not now try to discourage you from using it.

In the end, the one who must be happy with your story is - YOU. If you don't like it, you aren't ready to share it. When you feel it is ready to share with the world - send it out, and don't apologize for it. A standard "this is a work of fiction" disclaimer at the front should cover all the legal angles.

No. I don't agree with your views, but don't apologize for fiction. If someone is too dense to understand that fiction is not meant to represent the real world, then you don't need to listen to them.

Besides, this passage is not grammatically correct. Do you realize what a collosal run-on sentence you've got smack in the middle of it? Do not fear the common period, my friend. It cannot hurt you. If this is an example of your writing, your story needs to be proof-read before you publish it anywhere.

You are writing an 'apologia'. It was the tradtion to explain why one wrote a peice and why the thought they were knowledgable enough to do so. This practice has fallen out of use.

Go for it. Some people may read it and try to understand your position; at worst people will still be upset

Bad idea. Prologs indicate there is a problem with the book....why put yourself down..there will be plenty to do that if you publish.

Don't apologize, don't explain. It won't make any difference.
