there is a poison that ants take to the colony and feed all the other ants and even the Queen dies, I think its call Anthro or Andro (or something like that) ant block.

If you have the tolerance to live with the ants good for you. If you don't, look at some of the new generations of insecticides such as pyrethroids (Tempo, deltamethrin, permethrin), or other naturally derived pest control products such as Neem oil. Ants are all over, and you have to either live with them or control them (nothing will eliminate them). Regarding pesticides and kids/pets, most products are harmless to both if you follow label directions and don't let kids/pets back in the treated area for 24 hours. Depends on the type of ants. Make sure there's no foodstuffs or anything in the shed that the ants can eat. Remove or repair any rotten wood. You can get traps from many hardware stores.

bug stop is a pesticide, but its only toxic while wet. You spray it around the bottom of the shed, along the doors and windows, and when it dries it leaves a little line that bugs will not cross. you can pick it up at walmart its in a spray bottle like windex.

I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM IN MY GARAGE WITH ANTS AND SPIDERS !!!! COULDN'T USE PESTICIDES BECAUSE OF CHILDREN AND PETS. SO...........I HEARD THAT "MOTH BALLS" WOULD KEEP CATS AND DOGS OUT OF YOUR FLOWER GARDEN AND IF YOU PUT THEM AROUND THE PERIMETER OF YOUR YARD IT WOULD KEEP SNAKES AWAY. SO.........I TRIED THEM IN THE GARAGE. "IT WORKED". YOU COULD TRY PUTTING "RUBBING ALCOHOL" IN A SPRAY BOTTLE AND SPRAY BEFORE USING THE MOTH BALLS. THIS WOULD KILL THEM AND THE MOTH BALLS WOULD KEEP THEM AWAY. YOU COULD ALSO PUT "VINEGAR" IN A SPRAY BOTTLE AND SPRAY THEM FIRST.
YOUR SHED WILL SMELL LIKE A SALAD....BUT...IT'LL KILL THE ANTS. ( IT DID FOR ME)
THEN........WITH THE MOTH BALLS......YOUR SHED WILL SMELL LIKE YOUR GRANDMOTHERS CLOSETS.......BUT.....YOU WON'T HAVE ANTS !!!!!
A PLUS IS: THIS IS CHEAPER THAN PESTICIDES.
THIS WORKED FOR ME ............HOPE IT DOES FOR YOU.

had the same thing. get rid of every kindo of food you have stoked outside your cupbords and make sure there is no water anywhere (glasses etc)
black pepper helps as well

Pour boiling water on them, if you can find the mound use post- hole diggers to dig a hole in the middle of the mound and pour a pot of boiling water inside.

peppermint oil, sprinkle it around the mounds of dit, or where you see the ants going. They do not like it

cayenne pepper or cinnamon - breaks the scent in the trail - can always pour boiling water into hill
