I must warn you what you are about to do is illegal. Now to answer your question. In the state of ohio you do not need a photo id to get into a gun show. Second you do not need a photo id to purchase a gun from a private collector at a gun show but you do if you are buying from a dealer. Once again i must tell you that it is illegal to do what you are talking about.

No, you do not need an ID to get into a gun show. It is, afterall, just a show and anyone can go to see what is in there. To buy is a different story and that only applies to government controlled items which firearms are. You will need an ID to purchase any firearm and you will have to follow the laws of the state in which you purchase IN ADDITION TO the laws of the state in which you reside as printed on your photo ID.

The only way around all of this is to have a Federal Firearms License which is what dealers across the country have and are not issued just for personal use. You must sell to the public to get one of these licenses though they do not dictate how many guns are sold to the public nor how. You must simply prove that you are selling to the public to retain the license. With that license you can walk into ANY gun show in ANY state and walk out with a handgun without any waiting period. Of course, the government knows exactly everything about you in the process of obtaining that license and the dealer you would have bought the firearm from in the gun show would required a signed copy of that license to transfer the firearm to you. No, I am afraid there is no legal way of getting around that waiting period outside of becoming a dealer. There is a collector's license you could get but I doubt the guns you are seeking are approved as relics and curios!

You not only need an ID to purchase a gun, you need to be 21 or older & have a clean background. Background checks must be done in most states.

i dont think they ask for id to get in, unless you are very young, but im sure they will ask to see an id, you probably cant buy one if you live in a different state, at least not a handgun, some states have laws about background checks some dont, look up gun laws on the net for different states.

You should bring your id to the gun show, (if not accompanied by a parent) they will most of the time ask to see your id.
Yes of course they ask to see your id when buying a gun. ( unless you buying a muzzaloader, because they are not considered guns.)

Don't know if you need an Id to get in, but in my state you certainly need one to purchase a gun even if you are buying it at a gun show.

I know in Texas there's a registry. You have to answer several questions "Are you purchasing for yourself or somebody else?" "Have you ever rejected your US Citizenship?" etc. And yes, you must prove who you are.

I've never been to a gun show, but I don't think you need to register or show ID to get in.

For certain guns, you need to be over 18 and get a permit after a background check.

In Texas you do not have to have an ID to get in. You will need an ID to purchase though.
