As much as his performance stunk (on Leno), the band was actually pretty darned good. Plus, it was not "his" gig but rather a guest performance on the bluegrass tribute band's CD.

I guess nobody owns a Van Halen album - Happy Trails is a country song originally done by Roy Rogers. Big Bad Bill Is Sweet William Now - also fits. So Diamond Dave (or probably now $10 Dave) did sing a country song in the past.
The line between country and pop gets blurred - look at Shania Leppard or is Def Twain.

It is a shock considering how he got into the music business. Country music is not all that bad, but David doing it seem like fitting a round peg into a square hole and mixing oil with water. It just doesn't mix! Eddie should call him as a friend and tell him how ridiculous he looks doing Country. It's like Jay Z doing Opera!

Diamond dave has lost it!!! In the early 80's, he was on top of the world with van halen. His break-up with them should have been the end of his career. But wisely, he surrounded his self with some of the best musicians available and continued with modererate sucess. But....with a failed reunion w/ VH.... and a feudful tour with Sammy Hagar, Dave is at a crossroads with his soul. The diamond has lost it's luster.... and he is grasping at straws to figure out what to do to continue to be famous.
Dave and Eddie should make ammends and get back together. Neither dave or VH is doing anything.....

See that just shows ANYTHING can sing country, just like Jon Bon Jovi does country also. If you cant make it into rock, go to country( and todays country is not really country)
