I have read Richard Boone was descended from Squire Boone, Jr., a brother of Daniel Boone. I have read Pat Boone is related, but not descended from Daniel Boone, just a cousin, like Richard. The Boone brothers were from Davie Co., NC.

My great grandfather Robert lee Linville was 2nd cousin to Daniel Boone. His grandmother was Daniel Boone's mothers's sister. I think it would make me a distant 5th cousin to Daniel Boone.

hard telling. the book I have goes clear back to the 1700's. I am a related to Daniel Boone. But I am related to a Boone sister getting married to one of my relatives. I am a Dodson. Not a Boone. But the connection is still there.

I only know that I am a 5th grand nephew of Daniel Boone, a 5th great grandson of Squire Boone, his brother. There is a large monument outside of Corydon, Indiana, that tells about Squire and his son building a Church there, where he preached for several years. Not at all, have you seen them. Even when they were young they did not have any of Daniel Boone's characteristics. You can find ancestry work that says I am related to royalty in England, but I am not. These sights claim them to me cousins. I doubt it. Genealogy is hard to prove that far back, it can be but it is hard work.

My guess is that Daniel Boone is a patrichal ancestor of both if they are correct.
