Why is global warming a non-issue in the world?

it is and issue but ppl just chose to ignore it coz they dont care but one day they gonna look back and realise what a mistake it was to ignore it, and that they didnt try to do something about it to help

Because:
1. The rate of warming has been terribly small
2. The world has gone through numerous heating and cooling cycles larger than what we are seeing now, all on its own
3. This current trend is mostly, if not fully, due to solar activity
4. 30 years ago the same scientists were predicting a new ice age. Why believe them now?
5. Their models use bad assumptions that lead to impossible terrible scenarios, all so they can get more $$ funding.
6. On a planet that is over 2 billion years old, we've got maybe 200 years of data, and really only about 30 - 40 years of really good data. That is not a statistically significant amount of data to be making any predictions from.
7. There is little evidence than the trends are affected by man's actions to any significant degree.

That's why it's a non-issue.

It's a non-issue because the world is just in a warming cycle that has little to do with human activity. The world was warmer 2,000 years ago. The world has been warming for 10,000 years since the end of the last ice age. It'll be doing the warming/cooling cycle long after the human race is extinct.

One reason why so few people are really talking about it is because it isn't emphasized enough. It doesn't help matters when most of the media outlets in the U.S. and other parts of the West are owned by corporations that don't think that environmental protection laws are in their best interests. Also, a lot of the politicians in Washington (especially the Republicans) are in the pockets of the big oil companies and major corporations. Not too long ago, there was an interview on "60 Minutes" with a NASA scientist who published a report saying that we have 10 years left to reverse global warming. Unfortunately (and unsurprisingly), the Bush administration saw fit to edit the report to downplay the danger. I guess Bush & Co. didn't want to piss off the big businesses that donate so generously to Republican campaigns.

Its because not everyone realises the dangers caused by Global Warming and they dont exactly know WHAT causes Global Warming. So without this knowledge everyone is taking it for granted. Once something big happens people will finally realise but then I suppose it would be too late!

It's an issue to some, not to others. Those who are concerned about it are ticked off because not everyone agrees with them. It's a prideful person that can't stand the fact that some disagree. I tend to not jump on the bandwagon on things like this. In the 70's everyone was screaming about global freezing with the same sort of hysteria. Everyone who didn't buy into it was an idiot... look at them now! Usually these sorts of things are fads. Especially when a politician is behind it all.

It is a major issue in the world. That is why the Kyoto conference was created in 1997.But Bush doesn't think global warming is a major issue. He pulled us out of that conference. If you look at countries that produce the greenhouse I wouldn't doubt that were at the top with all the suv's and factories we have.

It's a non-issue because people have not been around long enough to prove it as a scientific fact. Records of temperatures are fairly new. People are relatively new to this earth. They haven't been around long enough to determine true cycles of weather. They have seen only minor shifts and even they have been effected by such things as huge volcanic explosions. The earth has seen ice ages and mini-ice ages, and it all comes from the wobble affect where the earth has an untrue axis rotation we go through every 25,000 years. It's like a child's spinning top as it starts to slow down, wobbling a bit off its rotation. and the smart people of the world who believe this consider it no danger

I've been wondering about this a lot lately...I've actually thought of something a little differently lately...before we made factories there was an ice age. The ice caps started melting on their own and long before we started spewing gasses into the air. Is it possible that the earth heats and cools at exponential rates(1-2-4-8-16-degrees) as apposed to sequencial (1-2-3-4-5-6-degrees) on its own? I mean, lets think about it, this all started before us and isn't a little self-centered to think that we are powerful enough to destroy a planet?
