so? what was it? what is the name of the last album you bought that blew you away?

also, if you had to pick just one artist/album to define you as a person who/what would it be?

final question (for those of you who choose an album pre-2000): what is your favorite album of the 21st century.

thanks.

p.s.
Please no answers from anyone under the age of 21. I know music is all about personal tastes but some of the replies I've seen with regards music have been downright embarrasing.

The last album that I bought that blew me away was "The Moon and Antartica" by Modest Mouse (yeah, its been that long.)

And not to be redundant, but I think Modest Mouse's lyrics somewhat define me as a person. Sometimes mellow, sometimes irreverent, sometimes crazed. Always interesting.

My favorite album of the 21st century would have to be the Pixies "Surfer Rosa." Classic.

I'm sorry I broke the rules here a little. I'm 18, but I would have to agree with you that Green Day (which seems to be what all the teenyboppers are listening to) isn't exactly life-changing music.

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say the greatest album but I was REALLY impressed with Daniel Powter's new album. I think anyone can appreciate his style of music. But if that doesn't float your boat then the new Chili Pepper album Stadium Arcadium is awesome.

The last album I bought that blew me away was John Legend 'Get Lifted'. I would recommend it to everyone, he covers a range of styles and every song is so beauttiful.

take this to your grave (2003)

never mind the bollocks, here's the sex pistols (1977)

minor threat (1981/84)

haven't heard much that is truely great in the past 6 years. the cure and the police are right up there, but the albums i listed are throughly great , and were most revolutionary to me, and my friends.

Plenty of them sounds great to me including Alizee, Anggun, Natasha Bedingfield, Kelly Clarkson, Il Divo and etc.. but if I really had to choose, my choice will be Breakaway from Kelly Clarkson.

Hurmm.. in this case, it's really difficult because it's quite hard to find male songbird that suits me... I guess it would be Il Divo.

Definitely Breakaway from Kelly Clarkson

Massive Attack - 100th Window blew me away.

Define me as a person? - uh . . . How about Miles Davis. Love to chill to ALL of his stuff (okay maybe not the weird prog stuff he did in the 70s).

10,000 days by Tool. Just one artist to define me? That's hard but I would have to say Fiona Apple. We are both moody and introverted. Some of her songs could be the soundtrack to my life.
