I turned 'Fatsausage' in for "Insulting Participant" because of his trying to imply that I am an inferior consumer, . . .or perhaps a loss prevention threat. I am scared lately that though I have the tools to ACQUIRE solvency, I have no model of HOW to USE the tools or knowledge. But I will figure it out. Or I will just buy my food at Wal-Mart.

Wow . . .I am still very insulted and hurt by what Fatsausage said. I don't even know him and I feel bad. Somebody comfort me. Pls. : ) Tell me why I feel so bad? I am not being sarcastic.

I feel an inferiority complex coming on. I am scared. Help me. (the 'help me' part was just for extra drama . . but I do mean it in a minimal to moderate way . . just not a severe way)

Hey I got it . . he is just a sadist? No, . . .b'cause his other responses are not pejorative. A little negative on the 'Don't hold your breath' response to 'Jesus coming back to earth'.

Yes it is but they are marketing geniouses. They cater to the earthy, hippy type crowd. While the food is way overpriced, people feel the prices are somewhat justified because they think that "natural" = "healthy" which is simply not a proven fact. There are studies about organic and natural foods but they aren't in the least bit conclusive. Time magazine had a large "smart eating" section in their last magazine. I'd recommend reading it. Bottom line- people will eat and pay for anything they think will benefit them.

The costs of producing organic food is higher. UNfortunately, when you try to create a better product, the reply often moves to cost and quotes like " I'll buy my food at Wal-Mart." Wal-Mart buys such large quantities that they have "market power", or the abilitie to control/demand pricing for goods they buy. This is usually bad for consumers and farmers. Also, the next time you buy food, check the label for ingredients; Whole Foods, Trader Joe's (Smaller but less expensive) work to limit preservatives and artifical ingredients.
Don't swallow the Whole Foods Marketing plan hook, line and sinker; but, don't swallow Wal-Mart's either.

I think Whole Foods is totally worth the additional cost. It is so nice to be treated with decency by the staff. In any other grocery store, you are lucky to get a "thanks for coming in" when you check out. At Whole Foods, when I purchase something at the meat counter, the butcher is actually able to tell me how long to cook it and at what temperature.

Plus, the food is of high quality. The produce is always good not like regular grocery stores.

Maybe before making judgements about Whole Foods simply based on cost, you should investigate their philosophies behind employees and customer service. :)

First, it rather is carat, no longer karat. Karat with a "ok" speaks to the purity of gold. Carat with a "c" is a weight. regrettably, diamonds have not have been given any fee. the only genuine powerful diamonds are those utilized in reducing approaches. those for rings are valueless. i'm a jeweler and that i purchase diamonds from a wholesaler once I actual have a shopper desiring one. If i become to purchase one on hypothesis (like the way a pawn shop would be paying for yours) i opt to pay as low as achievable because of the fact who's prevalent with how long i will would desire to sit down on it beforehand I sell it. i do no longer choose my money tied up on your rock. this is a shoppers marketplace which you attempt to sell to, and you will no longer get plenty for it. For a advertisement grade stone, i will pay $a million-$5 a component (there are one hundred factors in a carat). because of the fact the guy above wrote, there are various aspects determining high quality of a stone. Your terrific money will come from somebody who's getting engaged and desires a ct diamond. i won't be able to inform you the variety to define this variety of person, yet possibilities are high he will circulate to a jewellery shop for that purchase and could no longer experience gentle paying for from some guy on the interwebs. Sorry. You *would desire to* shop the ring for once you establish to pop the question, yet do no longer tell the one which you love the place you purchased the stone! women individuals are very superstitious approximately diamonds and constantly choose a "new" diamond. (this is BS seeing that all diamonds are like tens of millions of years previous besides.)

Yes, a lot of items there are overpriced, but there are some brands/items that I can't find anywhere else in my area. So, I am stuck shopping there for a few things. But that is the key: I only buy a few items there and shop at other markets for everything else.

One last mention: their hot breakfast bar is very yummy if you are in a hurry!

Freshness and food quality is always going to be more expensive than the 'chain' grocery stores. I shop a Whole Foods for the bulk cereals and grains and occasionally for the breads and meats. I often buy my vegetables at farmers markets for freshness. "You get what you pay for."

Not! Just like anywhere else, you just have to shop smart. Whole Foods brands like 365 can actually be really good buys... great product at economical prices. You have to admit that the quality of their good organics fruits and veggies is amazing. So I just shop the store brands and sales, and discipline myself to limit my quantities on fresh fruits and veggies so that nothing goes to waste. Sure, you can go hog wild on all kinds of gourmet delicacies if you aren't careful... so be more careful!
