Because of the internet and other global information sources, the technology gap is growing rapidly between people are aware of what is going on the world and people who ONLY know (or prefer to only know) what their ancestors have passed down over centuries. Should those with technology work to bring others into the modern world rather than fight them or ignore them?

Unfortunately it's not quite as simple as technology adding up to outgrowing religion. The West is still predominantly religious, and in many cases, staunchly so. These people are aware of evidence against the Bible or the Koran or the Torah or what have you, but they still choose faith over a lack of faith.

If bringing others into the modern world rather than fighting or ignoring them was its own question, then sure, of course I'm in favor of that. I think many people are, though how to go about that is unclear. There simply aren't enough resources in the world for everyone to live at the same standard of living that exists in much of the U.S. and Europe, and impoverished and/or oppressed countries can't easily be given a work force, an education or a new form of government, let alone dealing with a lack of natural resources in any given area. Many countries rely heavily on grants given by the U.S., The E.U., and other world powers... people are trying to help, and the aid comes by way of multi-million dollar pledges, an influx of food and medicine, shared technology, and more. It's not as though no one is doing anything.

I think you really have two separate questions here, but the topics are interesting.

Where did the missionaries come from? Europe. Now and then , Europe and America were/are technologically more advanced than most of Asia. Did anyone ever hear of missionaries from Asia sent to America or Europe, yet? No, they are still from Europe and America. Are they going there to tell them Asians that all the talk about Jesus and Christianity was a lie? I don't think so. Does technological advancement have anything to do with Spirituality and belief in a God? Hmmmm....I don't think so. The more advanced technology gets...the more human- beings need something bigger than themselves....That's my opinion.

No Michael. You assume that religion is simply a means to explain the world; that people with less knowledge needed it because they knew no better. This is not a correct assumption.
Maybe if you consider this: everything you experience, or think you experience, is actually "happening" physically inside your skull. You do not feel, see or hear anything. Your brain interprets signals sent to it.

Where can the impulse to know our creator originate?
