Yea, I am too!! It is really stupid! Then you can barely hear the show you are watching when it FINALLY comes back on!

I am also tired of commercials that wake up my neighbors before I can get to the remote to turn it down. Don't these companies realize that being loud doesn't get them the response they want but instead makes most people want to turn the channel

I dont know about yours but my tv has a setting in the menu to stop that.
Check yours for some kind of volume control.

It is annoying. Newer TVs can compensate and automatically adjust the volume.

Me me me, I have written stations and complained, but it did no good. the volume come from somewhere else they tell me.
