I am a white, Canadian woman, 48 years old...I think arranged marriages are archaic and a form of abuse. I have met four women of Indian decent who were forced into arranged marriages and every single husband was abusive in his own way. Three of them only wanted to come to Canada and bring their families and the fourth was a doctor who refused to speak with his wife after a long day at work, while his wife wasn't allowed to work - they had no children and she was alone in a strange city.

When you buy a product, you hope it will work or do the job for you but there's always a product that doesn't live up to expectations. I do not think it's much different when you select a spouse out of the air either. Unfortunately, the woman is always the one who suffers - in my experience.

I suppose the proposal of organized marriages itself is OK, despite the fact that it isn't the performed factor within the States in which I grew up. The present day organized marriage appears to be extra like courting together with your dad and mom atmosphere you up, as adults. I understand of a few those which are effective, while the marriages that I understand that experience long gone down the pan are "love suits." They say that love, or a minimum of appreciate and affection, can develop among 2 organized spouses if they've suitable strategies and targets. And if I'd married one of the vital idiots that my dad and mom warned me off of, I'd be but one other depressing divorcee myself. This doesn't suggest I could be given an organized marriage, nor that I suppose both college is best. I suppose it simply has to do with the persons concerned, and the factors in the back of it. But pressured organized marriage is simply WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

No I do not believe in arranged marriages. I don't think that you should be forced to marry someone that you've never met & may not even like. Many times when this happens the people involved are already in love with someone else. I don't think it's fair. Everyone deserves a choice on who they are going to have to spend the rest of their lives with.

From the US. I do not beleive in arranged marriages, due to my own upbringing. I understand them though, under circumstances such as royalty and business relations. It's all about the social surroundings.

I don't. And I'm not saying that it will not work for both individuals, but I just think that it's wrong. Marriage is a choice, not an option.
(To answer your second question: Alaska, USA is where I'm from.)
