Weather doesnt effect my mood generally, but that is not so for many.

Seasonal affective disorder - Some people suffer from symptoms of depression during the winter months, with symptoms subsiding during the spring and summer months. This may be a sign of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). SAD is a mood disorder associated with depression episodes and related to seasonal variations of light

Possible Cause of this Disorder

Melatonin, a sleep-related hormone secreted by the pineal gland in the brain, has been linked to SAD. This hormone, which may cause symptoms of depression, is produced at increased levels in the dark. Therefore, when the days are shorter and darker the production of this hormone increases.

Sunny weather makes me feel carefree and motivated, cloudy weather makes me feel sort of mellow and drab. Check out SAD Seasonal Affect Disorder if you have a question regarding depression because of the weather. There are studies that show people who reside in cloudier climate weather have higher melatonin levels and have more depression cases in these areas.

When it gets cloudy I feel a very tired and drained mood. When it gets really windy during a bad thunder/lightening/hail type storm, I get super paranoid! The wind triggers a panic response in my brain, but I don't know why! It can be POURING down straight rain with thunder & lightening and I am fine - not scared. BUT as soon as the wind kicks up and starts blowing hard I am very nervous. Something about the wind really gets me...

Sunny: Happy
Rainy/cloudy: Unhappy
Thunderstorms: Excited
Unfortuantely the weather is usually rainy here. Not that I have SAD, just that I can understand why lots of us have homes/move/travel abroad.

Sunny is more upbeat. But cloudy and rainy can be comforting if your stuck inside with hot cocoa. I find the short days of winter to be very depressing, long term. And the stifling hot heat waves in summer make me physically ill. So I guess there's no pat answer.

I love storms

especially thunderstorms

and when it's baking hot like this I'm happy because of the cloudless skies but I prefer to stay inside

I keep a tropical schedule

and when it cools down a bit I like to go to the riverbank and watch the ships or go to the beach

If it's snowing I'm delighted

if the days are grey I count them till they're over

er, any more?

I went to Texas a few years back, having never been to another country, I'm orignally from Northern Ireland where it rains constantly not to mention the troubles, but when I went to Texas where it's always sunny and hot, I noticed people where much happier and less reserved that the people back home. So yes maybe.
